[ARCHIVED] 2019 Kuna Park Ranger Program Registration

The program will run from June 10th to August 3rd. The kids will meet at 9:00 AM at the Bernie Fisher Park Band Shell (tentatively this location could be relocated to the new Parks Department office) and activities will be finished by 12:00 PM (unless otherwise specified). Field trips are incorporated in the program and permission forms will be sent home with the kids to be filled out and returned for each trip. If the form is not returned, the kids will not be allowed to go on the field trip. No exceptions. The program has been sectioned out by age group. The days and opportunities are set out as follows:

3rd through 5th Grades: There are 35 spots available. Children will meet in the park two times a week; Mondays and Wednesdays. They will participate in outdoor activities geared towards respecting the environment and community. The activities will range from learning about farms and gardening to historical and wildlife observation. They will learn the ins and outs of the park system from cleanup to caring for the trees.

6th through 8th Grades: There are 35 spots available. Children will meet in the park two times a week; Tuesdays and Thursdays. They will participate in outdoor activities geared towards respecting the environment and community. The activities will range from learning about farms and gardening to historical and wildlife observation. They will learn the ins and outs of the park system from cleanup to caring for the trees.

  • Weeks where a field trip or presentation is planned, we may have a combined trip to where this group will join the other on Wednesday and not meet on Thursday that week.

9th through 12th Grades: There are several volunteer opportunities available to our teen community members. These opportunities will include activities along the same lines as the younger kids, but with stronger purpose and leadership. They will have the ability to choose projects for the groups and guide them to completion. This is a great chance for older teens to earn volunteer recognition for college applications and job resumes.

Please fill out the information below and submit it by April 15, 2019. You can either send it to Jake Lorentz or drop it off at Kuna City Hall.
