The City of Kuna is committed to providing our residents and the general public with data, reports, and documents to make the City of Kuna accessible to all. 

Requesting Information

In the event you cannot find the information you are seeking on our website, please contact our City Clerk’s Office at (208) 387-7726; or fill out a Public Records Request (PDF) and email it to the City Clerk; or fill out an online Public Records Request form. Hard copies of the Public Records Request form are available at Kuna City Hall located at 751 W. 4th St. Kuna, ID 83634.

Idaho Code §74-102 provides the procedures for reviewing and/or copying public documents; all requests to examine or copy public records must be made in writing. Pursuant to Idaho Code §74-102(4), requests should specifically describe the subject matter in sufficient detail to enable the public body [The City of Kuna] to locate such records with reasonable effort. Please be as specific as possible when requesting records, such as listing or identifying specific names of documents, report numbers, or tracking references as well as including time frames/windows, especially when requesting a series of documents.

Pursuant to Idaho Code Title §74-103(2) The City of Kuna will respond to all written requests within three (3) working days to respond to a request from a resident, and twenty-one (21) days to respond to a request from a non-resident. If the City determines a longer period of time is needed to respond to a request, it must notify the requester in writing, and then must produce the response within ten (10) days to a resident requester, or thirty-five (35) days to a non-resident requester. All requests received after normal business hours and on weekends and Holidays shall be deemed received the next regular business day. In the event the Clerk provides written notice requiring advance payment of estimated fee, Public Records Request Requests will not be considered received until advanced payment has been made by the requester.

Estimate and Payment of Fees:  Idaho Code Section §74-102 (10)-(12) provides: In the event the requester is a resident of the State of Idaho and the Clerk, determines that completing this request is likely to involve the production of more than 100 copies, or involve more than 2 hours of staff time, and/or will involve legal advice for review and redaction, the Clerk will estimate those fees and provide written notice to the Requester requiring advance payment of those estimated fees. If the estimated fees are then paid, the Clerk will proceed with the Request. Funds received will be credited to the Requester’s account. Any portion of an advance payment of fees by the Requester, in excess of the actual costs incurred in responding to the request, shall be returned to the requester. Idaho Code Section §74-102(10)(g) allows a public agency to charge non-resident requesters a fee for labor and copying costs without first providing 100 copies or 2 hours of staff time at no fee.

Law Enforcement & Fire Department Records

The City of Kuna does not possess current law enforcement or fire department records. Law enforcement records may be requested from the Ada County Sheriff's Office. Fire department records may be requested from the Kuna Rural Fire District.
