• Please email individual PDFs of the following to CommercialPermits@KunaID.gov  
  • Commercial Building Permit Application – ALL lines need to be filled in completely 
  • The cost of construction (Contractor’s Bid document with the scope of work on company letterhead) including their license number, address, and contact information. *Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical costs should not be included in the Contractor’s construction cost or scope of work; they should be listed as separate line items.
  • Individual Site Plan page - If applicable, please include irrigated landscape square footage on site plan 
  • Individual Floor Plan page
  • Plumbing Fixture Count 8 ½ x 11 (one table with quantities) 
  • Engineering/Structural Calcs

• Please submit engineering/structural calcs as a single PDF and construction plans (24 x36) as a single PDF document to Dropbox. Construction plans should include Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Civil Site Plan sheets and reference IBC 2018. 
  • *Commercial and T.I. Submittals MUST be stamped by a design professional. 
  • *Civil plans are reviewed separately by the Public Works Department and must be approved before submitting to the Building Department. 
• If you do not have a dropbox link from the City of Kuna Building Department, once we receive your application, we will create a Dropbox folder for you and email you the link.

• Your application will be processed in the order it is received.
• When it is entered in our system, we will email you an invoice for the submittal fee which can be paid over the phone with a credit card.
• After the submittal fee is paid, the plans will go to the plan reviewer. If the plans are approved, you will receive an invoice with the total due. Please email TIrish@KunaID.gov and AEverhart@KunaID.gov when you have a check for pick up. Include a scan of the check with the account and routing numbers hidden. We will schedule a pick-up time with you.
• Once the permit has been paid and picked up, we will send you the approved plans electronically. You will be responsible for printing and having on site the approved plans, Manual J, and any applicable structural calculations.

• When your submittal has been accepted and entered in our system, we will email you an invoice for plumbing review fee, electrical review fee, and the $200 submittal fee. Please mail a check with the invoice or bring a check to City Hall. Once the check as been receipted, we will start the review process. 
• Commercial Building / Tenant Improvements require 4 different Inspector’s reviews prior to permit fee processing but they are all very prompt when we call out for a review. 
• Kuna Fire will need to assess the project for their impact fee and review the plans for life safety and their own permits. The City will send the plans to Kuna Fire. You will need to fill out both forms on the Kuna Fire website (External Link) and pay their review fee. The impact fee will paid as part of the building permit. We will need a copy of the Fire Department’s plan review payment certification and their impact fee certification before you pick up. 
• ACHD will need to review the plans for impact fees. This is done separately from our processing. You can submit your plans to us while they are doing their review. We will need a copy of the impact fee payment receipt before you pick up your permit.
